The start of the year is the perfect time to make a decision to start searching for purpose as an INFJ. The first step to reaching a big goal is always to make a clear decision. I understand your pain! But it’s easier to begin the journey than you might think… We see at least eight possibilities at once. It can be tough for INFJs to find our purpose, because we don’t usually see one road. INFJs need purpose like the air we breathe. But there’s one thing we all have in common: There are no rules, because all of us express ourselves in different ways. If this feeling of self-realization doesn’t exist, you will see a darker side of who we are.ĭespite sharing the same personality type, all INFJs have their own unique way of seeing happiness. But we need to acknowledge who we are from within. Not many will understand us, and INFJs are okay with that. It’s important for INFJs to find a balance between making others happy and staying true to ourselves. But sometimes, our desire to please our friends and family prevents us from making our own path. We can’t stand to live a shallow, meaningless existence. Carefully planned goals give an INFJ the ability to relax and keep things under control. More so than others, we need to be in solitude often, because we care so much and spend our energy in huge quantities. It’s vital if we are to move forward and be happy. No different from any other introvert personality type, INFJs need our alone time to recharge. We need to know why we’re here, because it opens up the door to do what we love and make a difference. Without a bigger calling, we feel anxious, lost, and can become depressed.īut when an INFJ finds purpose in life, all the pieces of the puzzle come together. We may be introverts, but we thrive when surrounded by people who love our authenticity.Īs I mentioned earlier, INFJs can’t be truly happy without a sense of purpose. This is an extremely dangerous way of thinking, because it creates an image that we’ll never be good enough no matter what we do. So instead, I always wanted more and better. In the past, every time I would successfully accomplish a task, instead of celebrating it, I would immediately focus on my next goal. ![]() It’s a form of self-sabotage and self-criticism that stems from INFJs feeling constantly misunderstood from a young age. ![]() INFJs on the other hand have a fear of success, which is why we are scared to be happy.
